I met Sheila at several reunions. She came to Philadelphia for treatment of her cancer and to participate in a research group and trial therapies. JoAnn and I met her for dinner a number of times during these treatments here in Philadelphia. I got to know her and her always optimistic outlook. She was a wonderful person and will be missed.
Sheila and I were friends and neighbors In Squirrel Hill. I remember going over to her house and sharing many special events together. We often walked to school. She was such a nice person. As with many others, we sadly didn't stay in touch after graduation. I am sad to learn of her passing, and more so, that she had health challenges, as many of us have. As our son says, no matter what we do to stay healthy, life gets through the cracks. I placed a photo on my profile of our DEB Sorority formal. Sheila is standing right behind me. I am in the first row, 4th seat from the left, as you look at the picture, next to Mimmi Hecht. I love learning from some of your other comments, that Sheila stayed upbeat and optimistic. By doing so, she was an inspiration to her family and others. May you rest in peace, dear friend.

Sheila fought a valiant fight and participated in a number of studies to advance cancer research. During it all she was upbeat and determined. So sad.
